Saint Vincent, the main island in this group is a thickly forested volcanic rock. The island's highest peak Soufriere (4048 ft) is still an active volcano. The Grenadines stretch away south of Saint Vincent toward Grenada. The islands lie off the coast of Venezuela, and have a hot climate with occasional hurricanes.
